The city is pretty young comparing to the majority of European cities. It is only a bit more than 300 years old, but it has its own character and certain face with long straight prospects and architectural ensembles of the 18th-19th centuries, surrounded by gorgeous suburban towns – summer residences of Russian Tsars and Emperors.
During the tour you will see the main highlights of the city, drive along the main prospect, see beautiful churches and luxurious palaces. You will learn about the history of the city and visit one of the biggest art gallery in the world – the Hermitage. You'll also make a trip either to Petrodvoretz – the so-called Fountain Kingdom, the palace that is often comparedd with Versailles – or to Tsarskoye Selo and the Catherine's Palace with its world-known Amber Chamber.
In summer St.Petersburg becomes much more attractive to its visitors because of the White Nights. It is the time when nights become as light as early evenings and one can even read a book without a lamp at midnight. Formally the period of the White Nights is from June, 11th to July, 2nd, but you can enjoy the combination of architectural masterpieces with this unique natural phenomenon from the end of May till late July.
