Detailed itinerary

The following itinerary is a working guide only and is a subject to variation as a result of local conditions, weather and governmental restrictions.
 

Day 1. Arrive in St.Petersburg. Hotel.

 

Day 2. Transfer to the railway station. Departure by train to Apatity in late afternoon. 

 

Day 3. Arrive in Apatity in the evening. Transfer to Kirovsk. Hotel. 

 

Day 4. Drive to the lake Maly Vudyavr. The beginning of the route. Ramsay pass, 760m. 10km day walk. Camp at the altitude 600m. Lichen tundra.

 

Day 5. Cross Western Petrelius pass, 785m. 6km day walk. Camping in the crooked birches' forest.

 

Day 6. Radial route. Walk to the top of the highest mountain of Khibini - Chasnachorr Mount, 1191m.

 

Day 7. Walk down by Petrelius and Kuniyok valleys. Crossing the river Kuniyok. 5-7km of day walk. Camp near Northern Rischorr pass.

 

Day 8. Cross the Northern Rischorr pass (850m), 4-6km. Camp in tundra.

 

Day 9. Walk down by Kaskasnunyok river, 6-8km. Camp in the pine-fir-tree taiga.

 

Day 10. Crossing the river Tuliok, walk down its valley to Umbozero lake, 7-10 km. Camp in the fir-tree forest.

 

Day 11. Rest on the bank of the Umbozero lake.

 

Day 12. Walk by the bank of the Umbozero lake to Komarinoye lake, 8-10km. Camp.

 

Day 13. Drive to Kirovsk (60-70km). Hotel.

 

Day 14. Drive to Murmansk (350 km). Late afternoon fly to St.Petersburg. Transfer to the hotel.

 

Day 15. Transfer to the airport. Departure from St.Petersburg.
