If you are interested in Russian history, this program is for you. During the trip to Moscow, Novgorod and St.Petersburg you will get an opportunity to see three great cities which had played and important role in different periods of time and are still the main industrial, commercial and cultural Russian cities.
Moscow has been the center and the capital of Russia for a long time. Many historical monuments designed by thebest Russian sculptors, great theatres and museums, superb shops and traditional Russian architecture are all ready waiting for you.
St.Petersburg is more European in design. The city is young in comparison with Moscow and ancient Novgorod, but during these 300 years the best European and Russian architects and sculptors have been working here to create "The Venice of the North". The Hermitage - the largest museum in Russia - can really compare with the greatest museums of the world.
Novgorod is one of the first Russian cities, known since the early 9th century. It was the second largest and very important city in the Ancient Slavic State. It is the city of the first republics and the member of the Hansa union. And it was the cultural and economic center for the northern part of the country, a prosperous city, until St. Petersburg was founded in the early 18th century. It is surprisingly well preserved with its numerous churches and buildings of 11-17 cc. Among the most important historical monuments there are the Kremlin and famous ancient Sophia Cathedral. The monument to the 1000th anniversary of Russia is known all over the country.
