Around Ladoga Lake

The tour starts and ends in St.Petersburg. Peter the Great grounded it as “a window to Europe”. Famous European architects created great ensembles of splendid palaces, cathedrals, parks and gardens.
 

OUTLINE ITINERARY:

Day 1. Arrival in St.Petersburg. City-tour and a visit to the Peter and Paul Fortress . Hotel.

 

Day 2. After the visit to the Hermitage take hydrofoil to Peterhof – summer residence of Russian tsars. Visit the splendid palace and enjoy and excursion in the park famous for its numerous fountains.

 

Day 3. We start our bus journey and go to Vyborg – the only European medieval castle in Russia. Sightseeing in Vyborg.

 

Day 4. Travel to Priozersk. City-tour and visit to the Korela fortress.

 

Day 5. We continue our trip and go to Sortavala. After short city-tour take hydrofoil to go to Valaam. Overnight at a hotel in Sortavala.

 

Day 6. Drive to Petrozavodsk  - the main city of Karelia republic. Sightseeing program in Petrozavodsk.

 

Day 7. Travel to Kizhi Island by hydrofoil. Walking excursion around the island and hydrofoil back to Petrozavodsk. Drive to Olonets and overnight there at a hotel.

 

Day 8. We go to St.Petersburg and make a stop in Staraya Ladoga for sightseeing and lunch. Hotel in St.Petersburg.

 

Day 9. Transfer to the airport. Return flight home.
