Detailed itinerary

Day 1. Arrive in Baku. Meet in the airport, transfer to the hotel Azerbaijan***. 

Day 2. Baku sightseeing tour, including Old City (3 hours). Visit to Icheri Shreter, the historic centre of Baku situated within the ancient city walls. You will see such architectural monuments as Maiden Tower and Shirvanshakhs' palace, Caravanserais, ancient mosques, etc. After excursion a boat trip by the Caspian Sea. Return to the hotel.

Day 3. Bus journey via Shamakhy to Sheki, 370 km. Sheki is one of the most ancient settlements and architectural centres of Azerbaijan. Was founded more than 2700 years ago. While driving you will have the opportunity to enjoy the picturesque view of the Eastern Caucasian Mountains. From the moment of arriving in the hotel "Yukhari Caravanserai" the architectural monument - your acquaintance with the history of Sheki will begin. 

Day 4. Drive to Tbilisi, 320 km. Accommodation in a *** hotel.  In the evening a short walking excursion in Tbilisi centre. Return to the hotel.

Day 5. After breakfast we visit the Pantheon and Mamadaviti Monastery (6th-19th c) which are located on the slope of Mtatsminda (holly Mountain) dominated over Tbilisi. The landscape is fantastic and very different from that of other parts of Georgia. Excursion around the Monastery. Return to Tbilisi. Hotel.

Day 6. Drive to Mtskheta, the ancient capital of Georgia  (30 minutes' drive from Tbilisi).  Visit ancient monuments (6 -11 centuries). Drive to Gori (1,5 hours drive from Mtskheta) to Uplistsikhe cave-town. Uplistsikhe is an elaboration of group of natural caves, inhabited from the 6th century BC to the 1400s. There is the 1st c. AD theatre and a main reception hall. A church of the 9th century stands near the top of the town. After excursion we drive back to Gori, where we lunch. Visit to Stalin Museum. Then we continue our trip to Borjomi /160km from Tbilisi, 1 hr. From Gori/. This is one of the most popular resorts in Georgia. Borjomi is the synonym of the famous mineral water throughout Georgia. Dinner and Overnight in Borjomi. The hotel we are staying at is situated in the Borjomi 

Day 7. From Borjomi we drive along river Kura Valley to the South to the cave town Vardzia (12c) (110km, 2-2,5 hours). On the road we stop at an ancient Khertvisi Fortress, visit Sapara Monastery of the 10th century.  Short excursion and continue  trip to Vardzia, the grandiose cave town built between 1186-89 considered to be a unique example of Georgian Renaissance.  Excursion. Lunch. Return to Borjomi. Hotel.

Day 8. Breakfast and drive to Yerevan (320 km, 6-7 hrs). Accommodation in Armenia II hotel***. Leisure evening with possibility to organize Entertaining Program for extra payment. It is supposed the performance at the Opera or Ballet, or folk music.

Day 9. Sightseeing tour of Yerevan. Visit to Matenadaran, one of the biggest depositories of ancient manuscripts. Drive to Etchmiadzin - a city of antique monuments. Sightseeing.  Return to the hotel.

Day 10. Transfer to the airport. Depart from Yerevan.
