Arrive in Yerevan. Transfer to "Armenia-II" hotel ***.
Sightseeing tour of the city Yerevan with attending the memorial monument of the Victims of Genocide in 1915. Lunch in a restaurant (national cuisine). Visit to the state Picture Gallery. Test local wines and well known Armenian brandies at the national cell 'Maran'. Extra payment ($10). Hotel.
Visit to Etchmiadzin, former Armenian capital (20 km from Yerevan) was the capital of Armenia from AD 180-340. Excursion to the Cathedral which was built in 303 on the site of a pagan temple, we also can see the churches of St Hripsime, Gayane and Shogakat, the ruins of the Zvartnots temple (7c.) an ancient and unique architectural monuments are two kilometers away from Etchmiadzin. The temple is a three-tiered polyhedron structure of 49 meters high. Visit the Ethnographic Museum of Armenia. Lunch at the restaurant in the national style. Return to the hotel.
Excursion to Garni /4 hours, 46 km from Yerevan/ - the pagan temple of Sun of the 1 century AD and the complex of Gerard Cave Monastery of 12-13cc. Return to Yerevan. Lunch. Visit to the Matenadaran, one of the biggest depositories of ancient manuscripts. There are more than 14000 manuscripts concerning history, philosophy, jurisprudence, mathematics, medicine and geography, written in Armenian, Greek, Arabic and other languages. Leisure evening with a possibility to organize entertaining program (for extra payment).
Departure to the Lake Sevan - one of the worlds' highest (1090m) alpine lakes accounts for 97% of his volume. Accommodation in hotel Sevan. Excursion to the Sevan monastery.
Return to Yerevan. Lunch in the hotel. Leisure evening with a possibility to organize entertaining program for extra payment. We propose opera, ballet or folk music.
