Geographic Bureau has been operating in Russian Adventure Travel Business since 1989. It is one of the first private adventure travel firms which emerged in this country as a result of Gorbachev's "perestroika". Founded by professional geographers from St. Petersburg State University it specializes in organizing tours and expeditions to the remote wild areas of Russia and the republics of the former USSR. Some of our tours may bring you to places where no foreigners have been allowed to even glance at for dozens of years. During  twenty years of operation we have managed to create a network of agencies in all the biggest centers of the former USSR as well as in the main "wilderness" regions.

Mount Elbrus - two weeks

The summit of Elbrus can be seen for miles around from different parts of the Caucasus region. Both East (5621m) and West (5642m) summits are permanently covered with snow.

Turkmenistan

Turkmenistan is located in Central Asia and is bordering with Uzbekistan to the north and to the west, Kazakhstan to the north, Afghanistan to the south and to the east and Iran to the south. To the west it is washed by the Caspian sea. The total area of the country is 488 100 square km, which makes it one of the largest in Central Asia.
