Geographic Bureau has been operating in Russian Adventure Travel Business since 1989.

It is one of the first private adventure travel firms which emerged in this country as a result of Gorbachev's "perestroika". 

Founded by professional geographers from St. Petersburg State University it specializes in organizing tours and expeditions to the remote wild areas of Russia and the republics of the former USSR. Some of our tours may bring you to places where no foreigners have been allowed to even glance at for dozens of years. During twenty years of operation we have managed to create a network of agencies in all the biggest centers of the former USSR as well as in the main "wilderness" regions.

 

Nowadays Geographic Bureau focuses on adventure tourism, cultural and educative tourism, scientific ecological and geographical programs, linguistic and exchange programs, business trips. As well we can arrange staying and other services including visa support in St Petersburg, Moscow and other major cities and towns in Russia and the Republics. Domestic and international air and train tickets bookings are possible.

 

Geographic Bureau organizes different kinds of adventure trips to many regions of Russia and the Republics. The wide range of different ways of journeys is possible - mountain trips (trekking, mountain-climbing), biking, cross-country and mountain skiing. The most popular programs are: climbing the highest peak of Europe - Mt. Elbrus, trekking in Tien-Shan and Fann Mountains, Pamir and Pamir-Alai Mountains, South Siberia, exploring volcanoes of Kamchatka Peninsula

 

Different programs have been developed by Geographic Bureau for those who are interested in certain aspects of past and present of Russia and the Republics. Apart from scheduled and standard trips Geographic Bureau organizes very special trips to very remote areas of Russia and Central Asia.
