Geographic Bureau has been operating in Russian Adventure Travel Business since 1989. It is one of the first private adventure travel firms which emerged in this country as a result of Gorbachev's "perestroika". Founded by professional geographers from St. Petersburg State University it specializes in organizing tours and expeditions to the remote wild areas of Russia and the republics of the former USSR. Some of our tours may bring you to places where no foreigners have been allowed to even glance at for dozens of years. During  twenty years of operation we have managed to create a network of agencies in all the biggest centers of the former USSR as well as in the main "wilderness" regions.

The contrast between tiny beautiful valleys and high severe mountains certainly belongs to one of the most beautiful pieces of nature in the world. Modern-type society had first appeared on the territory of Georgia at the beginning of the first millennium BC. In the 6th century BC the antique Georgian states of Kolkhida in Western Georgia were formed, and in the 4th - 3d centuries BC - Iberia was formed in Eastern Georgia.
